“You Need Education to Live”
This year, The Leap of Faith Network is embracing a “12 Months of Giving” campaign. Each moth this year, we are focusing of collecting and distributing items to people in our community who have limited resources. For the month of March, we are collecting books. This week’s show honors our book drive and teaches us all that reading changes lives and opens doors.
Born in a family of 17, Milton Whitley grew up on a sharecropping farm in North Carolina. At an early age, he was spanked at school for not being able to spell or read and he started skipping school. Because he couldn’t read or write, he was erroneously placed in a vocational school for children with mental and physical disabilities and then in special education classes.
