The Book

Blog: The Book

Years ago, I wanted to write a book that inspired and encouraged women.  I didn’t know what I wanted to say or how to say it.  So other than having the idea, I did nothing.

When I started this blog in 2010, I had in the back of my mind that I could use the blog to record stuff now that I would put into a book later.  I could also use the blog to dip my toe in the water to see if what I wrote about really helped others.   Well, I got solid feedback telling me people were being helped.  So I wrote and wrote, and kept getting great feedback but I still didn’t see a book.  I didn’t see any commonality in my posts to make a book.

Now life is funny.  Last year, I helped two friends, now authors, produce their first books.  I edited their books.   It was exciting being part of the creative and book publishing processes.   And my desire to write a book rose again.  It really kicked off in November.  I toyed with a concept for a book, but finally settled on another in December.  And began writing!  So far, I have: Continue reading “Blog: The Book”

Anointed Women In Christ

Another Blog- Anointed Women In Christ

I can’t believe I have been writing this blog for over a year! When I explained what I write about to an acquaintance, she broke it down like this: thoughts I have now that the noise of a workplace and of an employer are no longer in my head. Perfect! I want to thank you for reading my thoughts. I want to also thank you for your patience when I didn’t post every week as I had planned (had no thoughts to share!), for your feedback to posts, for joining the Reading4Champions Book Club started in November, for following @SharmansJourney on Twitter and for being a fan of My Journey to Me Facebook Page. Without you, my efforts would have been useless.

If you will remember, one of the reasons I started this blog was to put down my thoughts and experiences to add value to others. Well, since I started writing in May 2009, a dream I once had came back to my recollection. Once upon a time I wanted to write a book that inspired and encouraged women. And it seems that since I started this blog, I have moving down the path to do just that.

It is with great pleasure and honor that I inform you I was recently asked to blog and manage the social media for a website for women which I gladly accepted. Now, you can also read my thoughts on http://anointedwomeninchrist.wordpress.com.   Anointed Women in Christ (AWIC) ministries was founded by Ms. Chris Allen in 2010 with a goal of teaching women how much God loves and values them. My postings on AWIC will be messages designed for women based upon and citing scriptures from the Bible. If you like, you can subscribe to the blog and get updates via email. There are two messages posted already: A Cheerful Receiver and Are You Resource-full? You can follow AWIC on Twitter @awic4christ and become a fan of Anointed Women in Christ on Facebook.

THAT Stirring

Ever read or hear a message then felt something jump inside of you so much tears came into your eyes? Yes? That feeling, that stirring means you were supposed to read or hear those words at that point in time. It means those words were meant just for you, even if you are sitting in a vast audience.

The other day, I was idly going through my emails and opened an email update of a blog I subscribe to. The title of the blog post was catchy because I was feeling that way. I started to read the post. And something jumped deep inside of me, I was overwhelmed and I cried. But I was energized and eager to conquer my day! And I did!

So the next time you get that feeling, that stirring, don’t ignore it. You might miss something great about you. What did I read you ask? It was “Are You Stuck?’by Darren Hardy, Publisher of SUCCESS magazine. Click the title to read it. Enjoy!

Question for Comment: Have you ever experienced that stirring? What did you do about it?

Why a Blog?

Yes, I am writing a blog. You are probably asking yourself why??? Well, this blog is to be a catharsis for me…. a place to write the thoughts and adventures I am having in my life right now. I also hope this blog helps other people to stop and think, to see life differently, to laugh at themselves, to know they can still learn and grow, and whatever else they get from my blog that helps them become better.

I will be 54 this year and am the only child. That may also explain this blog…I don’t have any siblings to dump on. Anyway, I am enjoying my life more now than when I was younger. In December 2008, I walked away from my career in law, from a position as a judge, to do something different. I lot of people ask me if walking away was hard to do.

The answer is no for two reasons. Continue reading “Why a Blog?”
